Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,
I hope this correspondence finds each of you in good health, rested and looking forward to a new year at North Country Union High School. The freshman (9th grade) orientation will be held on Monday August 30th. A seperate mailing outlining the freshman orientation will be mailed to you prior to the 30th. All students will return to school on Tuesday August 31st. This is a change to the calendar. Tuesday August 31st will be a B Day.
Currently our student/ parent handbook is available for online viewing. Please review the contents of the handbook to become familiar with all school related policies and school wide expectations. Located in the handbook are our policies on harassment/ bullying, school computers and internet use, fighting, dress code and cell phone use. Please review these policies with your child so that everyone is very clear on the consequences and expectations involved.
Our school will be transitioning to a peanut/ nut free environment. We must be proactive in educating our school community about these very serious allergies due to the fact that we have students that are allergic to peanuts, peanut oil and nuts. The symptoms of these allergies can vary from being quite mild, to extremely severe, to life threatening.
We will continue to provide parent/ guardian access to Web Grade's which will allow parent(s)/ guardian(s) to read their child's grades via the internet. The Web Grade access is an opportunity for you to keep current with your child's academic progress on a regular basis. If you are new to this process, information about access, a username and password will be mailed to you.
On behalf of the North Country Union High School, I welcome each of you to an exciting new academic school year. Let me and or any member of the North Country Union High School community know if there is anything we can do to help your child be successful.
Sincerely,
William J. Rivard
