F.42 Graduation Requirements, Course Load and Grade Level Advancement Policy

Graduation Eligibility Requirements:

  • English.......... 4 years, 4 credits
  • Math.......... 3 years, 3 credits
  • Social Studies.......... 3 years, 3 credits
    {World History, Government and Economics, and U.S. History}
  • Science.......... 3 years, 3 credits
  • Health.......... 1 semester, 0.5 credits
  • Physical Education.......... 1.5 semesters, 1.5 credits
  • Fine Arts.......... 2 semesters, 1.0 credit

16 credits + *9 elective credits = 25 credits (Beginning with class of 2012)

16 credits + *7 elective credits = 23 credits (Class of 2010 and 2011)

Additional Requirements:

  • T.E.A.M. Certificate of Participation for entire time of NCUHS study, signed by student's  Teacher Advisor
  • Participation in state-wide assessment program before graduation (NECAP)

Course Load:

All students are required to be enrolled in a minimum of seven (7) blocks of instruction each semester. Students planning on continuing their education after high school should be enrolled in eight (8) blocks of instruction.

Grade Level Advancement Requirements:

Students advance with their age/grade cohort through Grade 11. Students will advance to Grade 12 if all graduation requirements and credits can be met in the next school year.

Making Up Failed or Missed Requirements/Credits:

Students must make up the failed course during the year immediately following the school year that the course was failed. If indicated, other options approved in writing in advance by the administration are available for course make-up.

Driver Education:

Sophomore designation, 6 credits, appropriately dated learner's permit and space availability are necessary to enroll in Driver Education.
